Wine Cellars and Wine Cabinets
Fine wines are not only expensive; they also require specific climate conditions for proper storage and aging. The Habitat Monitor® can be used in wine cellars or wine cabinets to monitor the climate conditions or to create and maintain the ideal environment for the proper storage and aging of valuable wines.
In the simplest applications, the Habitat Monitor is placed in a wine cellar or wine cabinet to accurately monitor the operation of an existing cooling system. The Habitat Monitor will measure and display the climate conditions within the cellar and keep track of temperature and humidity extremes. If the temperature or humidity falls outside an acceptable range (selected by the user), an alarm will sound. With optional components, the alarm can even sound in a remote location, trigger a security system or actuate a dialer to contact you directly.
The Habitat Monitor can also control the
temperature or humidity within the wine cellar or cabinet.
Since most commercially available winestorage cabinets and
wine cellar cooling units, do not maintain the proper range
of humidity (50 to 70% RH), for long term aging of fine wines,
the Habitat Monitor is used, in conjunction with one of our
humidifiers, to create and maintain the proper humidity
levels.
