The Habitat Monitor^Žis a sentinel, providing accurate readings of temperature and humidity, logging minimum and maximum extremes for each of the measured values, and displaying the measured values in nearly real time. Here, for the first time, is a precision temperature and humidity alarm system. This is not just another "digital gauge". This is a highly accurate, microprocessor controlled thermo-hygrometric device. This "smart" monitor not only senses, displays and memorizes temperature and humidity, but has output capabilities to provide alarms and control external devices. The Monitor is powered by an AC/DC Adapter with a 9V battery for backup in the event of a power failure, providing uninterrupted vigilance over the storage climate.

The Remote Alarm unit is a redundant alarm source which can be connected to the Monitor and placed in any convenient location. This is desirable when the alarm in the main unit may not be heard, for example, because it is in a location which is well insulated or which is distant from the main living area.

Humidifiers are available which can be connected to the Monitor and controlled to operate whenever humidity falls below the desired level. Maintaining humidity is extremely important for the proper storage of wine or cigars. Several sizes of humidifiers are available, suitable for maintaining humidity in small humidors, or large wine cellars.
