Cigar
Cabinets / Humidors
How
can I ensure that my cigars are being stored at
the right humidity and temperature?
Use the Habitat Monitor.
The Habitat Monitor provides continual, unattended vigilance over the climate conditions within a cigar cabinet or humidor - guarding against conditions that could be deleterious to your valuable cigars.
The Habitat Monitor continually measures and displays temperature and humidity, sounding an alarm if the humidity is too low. With optional components, the alarm can sound in a remote location, or the alarm can trigger an existing security system.
The Habitat Monitor Precision Humidification
Systems are used to maintain the ideal humidity. Combined
with one of our large assortment of humidifiers, the Habitat
Monitor will turn on the humidifier if the humidity is too
low, and turn off the humidifier when the humidity level
is fine.
Make Your Own Cigar Humidor
For the cigar enthusiasts who want to create their own, the Habitat Monitor® and one of our humidifiers will transform virtually any closed cabinet into a superior cigar humidor. All you need is the Habitat Monitor, one of our humidifiers, a cabinet or end table, a little bit of weather stripping and some distilled water (our humidifiers do not require expensive "special care solutions").
Temperature Control
In addition to controlling humidity, The Habitat Monitor is capable of controlling high and low temperature using one of our heaters or coolers.
Temperatures in excess of 70F for extended
periods of time are damaging to cigars. Elevated temperatures
can result in the incubation of tobacco beetle larvae.
Thermo-electric air conditioners are available
for cooling cabinets. For large spaces the Habitat Monitor
can control a variety of thru-wall or portable air conditioners
to maintain temperature ±1 degree from the desired
level.
